About the Process

Precious Metal

100% recycled precious metals
All my precious metal scrap is sent to my supplier where they collect precious metal scrap from bench jewellers around North America to recycle. No metal is wasted and all scrap is recycled and refined to the highest quality and karat purity. They have obtained SCS certification. In turn I purchase precious metal in the form I need to create my jewellery lines. So what is SCS certification?

This innovative SCS certification assures customers that they use recycled metals and gemstones, and actively avoid conflict metals and materials from questionable or illegal sources. It also demonstrates that they meet fundamental benchmarks of social and environmental accountability, including risk management throughout the supply chain. That their workers are treated fairly according to international labor standards, and destructive environmental practices are avoided.

Methods of Construction

I receive silver and gold in the form of sheet, wire or casting  grain.

They are manipulated to shape using traditional

goldsmithing techniques, some of which date back to ancient

Egyptian times. Once the desired shape has been formed and

loose joints are soldered for structural integrity.  The piece is then

sanded with various different grades of sanding grit to accomplish a smooth finish and to remove any unwanted solder and dents. Depending on the desired end result the piece can now be polished or texture before it is finished by either burnishing in a tumbler or polishing on a lathe.  Excess polishing compound is removed by an ultrasonic cleaning method, washed with soap and water then dried with a soft cloth.  The final quality check is done and only then the item is ready for presentation.
